The Labour Member’s not so gay,
 His new-won honours seem to irk;
He finds himself, with keen dismay,
 Expected (heavens!) to do some work.
A thing against the grain, which he
 Will squash with condemnation hearty;
He’s thoroughly resolved to be
 One of the Down-with-Labour Party.
