John o’ London’s

George Newnes Ltd., publishers of the Strand magazine and the schoolboy magazine The Captain, initiated a weekly literary magazine in 1919 edited by Wilfred Whitten, whose pen name of John o’ London was familiar to readers as a literary critic and essayist and a travel writer. It was regarded as the leading literary magazine in the British Empire, with a peak circulation of 80,000 at its height between the two world wars; it ceased publication in 1954 and was briefly revived in the early 1960s. (Information from Wikipedia)
